Key Colony Point and Marathon have a host of attractions. There is Sombrero Beach, which is a 12.6 acre beach with walkways and swimming area and the famous Dolphin Research Center where one can swim with the dolphins, and The Turtle Hospital which is well known for treating injured sea turtles. There is kayaking and canoeing to Bahia Honda State Park which has been named in the top ten beaches in Florida.

There are numerous restaurants in Marathon including Cabot's On The Water, waterfront view, fresh seafood and tender steaks. There is award winning cuisine at Hideway Café at Rainbow Bend Resort, "the only thing we overlook is the water." Each April, Marathon holds the annual Seven Mile Bridge Run, in which, 1500 runners race over the longest segmented bridge in the world.

On Key Colony Point, there are two very good fishing charterboat companies; The Main Attraction or The Desperado both at Key Colony Beach Marina to choose from. Besides deep sea fishing and boating, there are 2 golf courses at Sombrero Country Club and Key Colony Beach Golf & Tennis. There is Diving and Snorkeling and many Art Galleries and Antique Shops. Marathon is considered the heart of the Florida Keys because of its location ... about the middle of the Florida Keys chain.
